About Susan
Susan Sipple | BHSc (Acupuncture) | AHPRA Registered | Member, AACMA

Hi, I'm Susan — an AHPRA-registered acupuncturist with a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture and a deep focus on women's hormonal health.

I practise from Banora Physical Therapies in Terranora, where I work alongside a wonderful team of allied health professionals to provide integrated, evidence-informed care.

My clinical focus is women's health across all life stages — particularly perimenopause and menopause, where I draw on both the TCM tradition and a growing body of clinical research. I love working with women who feel like they're not quite themselves anymore — and especially those who are tired of being told everything looks fine when it doesn't feel fine.

My approach is grounded, integrative, and always personalised. I work alongside your existing healthcare team — whether that's your GP, specialist, or other practitioners — because I believe the best outcomes happen when all the pieces of your care are connected.

When I'm not in the clinic, you'll find me by the ocean or with family and friends — because connection and restoration are at the heart of everything I do, in practice and in life.

I'd love to be part of your healthcare team — and I look forward to meeting you.

Why Acupuncture?
Evidence-based, gentle, and tailored to you.
Evidence-informed care
Acupuncture for menopausal symptoms is supported by a growing body of clinical research, including systematic reviews and randomised controlled trials. Susan draws on both the TCM tradition and current evidence to guide her practice.
Safe and gentle
Acupuncture has an excellent safety profile across all reviewed clinical studies. It is suitable alongside most conventional medical treatments and can be used when other options are unavailable or unwanted.
Whole-person approach
Every treatment is tailored to you as an individual — looking at the whole picture of sleep, mood, energy, digestion, and stress, not just the presenting symptom. A natural complement to conventional care.
Common Questions
Everything you need to know before your first appointment.
What happens in a first appointment? Your first session is a comprehensive 75-minute consultation. We'll take a detailed health history, discuss your goals and concerns, and you'll receive your first acupuncture treatment in the same appointment. There's no need to prepare anything — just wear comfortable, loose clothing.

How many sessions will I need? This varies depending on your condition and how long you've been experiencing symptoms. For most hormonal and menopausal concerns, a course of 6–8 weekly sessions is a reasonable starting point, with most people noticing changes within the first 3–4 treatments. We'll always discuss your progress and adjust the plan together.

Does it hurt? Acupuncture needles are very fine — much finer than a typical injection needle. Most people feel little to no discomfort on insertion. You may notice a mild ache, warmth, or tingling sensation around the needle, which is normal and often a sign the treatment is working.

Can I claim on private health insurance? Many private health funds cover acupuncture under extras cover. As an AHPRA-registered and AACMA-member practitioner, Susan's treatments are eligible for rebates with most major funds. Check your specific policy for details.

I've been referred by my GP — what should I bring? Bring any referral letter, recent blood test results, or other relevant reports if you have them — they help build a more complete picture. A referral isn't required to book, but if your GP has sent one it's very welcome.
